Nice confirm Elye Wahi’s return on another loan deal
The Ivorian striker has been loaned by Eintracht Frankfurt to the French club for one season, with an option to buy. Elye Wahi will once again wear the Nice colours during the 2026–2027 season.
The Ligue 1 club had made signing the Ivorian international a priority during this summer transfer window, and that objective has now been achieved. Nice have secured Elye Wahi’s services on another one-season loan, but this time with an option to buy.
That said, if Wahi manages to impress the French club’s management at the end of the 2026–2027 season, he will sign a permanent contract. During his loan spell last season, the 23-year-old Ivorian international scored seven goals and provided one assist for Nice in Ligue 1. In particular, he helped Nice secure their place in the top flight.
Upon the official announcement of his return to Nice, Elye Wahi expressed his delight.
“I always knew, in the back of my mind, that there was a chance I might come back. I’m absolutely delighted that this has happened. Thank you to the club officials, the manager, and thank you to the fans for the welcome they’ve given me.”
