Tigres UANL is on the verge of pulling off a blockbuster transfer for the Apertura 2025, as they near a deal to sign Argentine World Cup winner Ángel Correa from Atlético de Madrid for a reported €8 million plus performance bonuses.

According to recent reports, Tigres has reached a verbal agreement with Correa and has since finalized terms with Atlético. The transfer is expected to become official once the Spanish club concludes its participation in the FIFA Club World Cup.

Correa still has two group-stage matches to play: against Seattle Sounders on June 19 and Botafogo on June 23. It's possible the forward could exit the tournament after the group stage, as FIFA regulations allow for two squad changes before the knockout rounds.

There’s also a contingency in place: should Correa sustain an injury during the tournament, Atlético would be required to lower the transfer fee to accommodate Tigres’ concerns.

Once the tournament ends, Correa is expected to undergo a medical and sign a contract with Tigres. The deal would mark a significant coup for the Mexican side, adding an experienced attacker with top-level pedigree to their roster for the upcoming season.
