NFF Confirms New Date for Super Eagles vs Egypt Pre-AFCON 2025 Friendly
The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) has officially rescheduled the Super Eagles’ pre-AFCON 2025 friendly match against the Pharaohs of Egypt. The highly anticipated warm-up game, initially planned for December 14, will now take place on Tuesday, December 16.
The change follows a directive from world football authorities, prompting both sides to adjust their preparation schedules. As a result, the match will now serve strictly as a training exercise, giving Nigeria and Egypt the freedom to make unlimited substitutions, a move expected to help coaches assess squad depth before the tournament kicks off.
The friendly is set to hold at the iconic Cairo International Stadium, with kick-off scheduled for 8:00 p.m. local time in Egypt (7:00 p.m. in Nigeria).
Nigeria heads into the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations placed in Group C, where they will go up against Tunisia, Uganda, and Tanzania as they aim for continental glory.
