NFF Clears Kano Pillars, Katsina United for Home Return Nigeria Premier Football League

The Nigeria Football Federation Disciplinary Committee has cleared Kano Pillars and Katsina United to return to their home stadiums after serving five-match bans, following a meeting held on Wednesday.

Kano Pillars, four-time Nigerian champions, will resume matches at the Sani Abacha Stadium after completing sanctions imposed over crowd disturbances during an NPFL fixture against Shooting Stars on October 12, 2025. The Committee upheld most penalties but reduced an indefinite closure to five matches, allowing a return after Matchday 18.

Findings showed poor security, pitch invasions and assaults on players and officials, leading to fines, compensations and a three-point, three-goal deduction.

Katsina United were also sanctioned over crowd trouble against Barau FC, fined ₦3,000,000 and given a concurrent five-match ban. They will return home after Matchday 21, while both clubs retain the right of appeal formally.
