The star of Brazil's national team and Santos, Neymar, has been called up to the national squad for the first time in nearly 1.5 years of absence. The Brazilian reacted to this news by posting an Instagram story.

The footballer shared a photo where he is sitting in front of the TV watching the announcement of the squad. He captioned it with the words “Happy to be back” and added emojis of the Brazilian flag and hearts in blue, green, and yellow, referencing the national colors.

The Brazilian squad was announced yesterday by head coach Dorival Junior. Notably, among those called up, there was no place for Antony, who is currently shining at Betis after his loan from Manchester United. Also absent from the list was Real Madrid's young star Endrick.

Recall that Neymar was last called up to the national team in October 2023. It was then that the Brazilian suffered an injury in a match against Uruguay, after which he underwent a lengthy recovery.

It should be added that since returning to Santos in February of this year, Neymar has scored 3 goals and provided 3 assists in 7 matches, showing a return to form.
