Neymar didn’t hold back when confronted with criticism from former player and TV host Neto, who slammed the Santos star’s off-field activities while he’s sidelined with injury. Reacting to a video posted by Os Donos da Bola on Instagram, Neymar responded sarcastically: “Let’s give him some views, the biggest loudmouth on Brazilian TV.”
The 33-year-old forward, who has been out for a month with a hamstring injury, has shared glimpses of his recovery process online, showing strength training sessions supervised by his personal staff. However, his public appearances—at Rio’s Carnival, promotional events, and matches of his Kings League Brazil team FURIA—have drawn criticism, according to O Globo.
Neymar is currently recovering from a left hamstring strain that ruled him out of the Paulista semifinal against Corinthians. He’ll also miss Santos’ upcoming match against Bahia in the second round of the Brasileirão.
He is expected to return in the third round, when Santos face Fluminense on April 13. Neymar has 12 matches left under his current contract, which runs through June 30. While his on-field return is awaited, his off-field behavior continues to stir controversy, and his sharp responses, as always, make headlines.
