Neymar Demands Accountability from Santos Squad to Avoid Relegation

Following a 3-1 friendly loss to RB Leipzig, Neymar issued a stern warning to Santos FC, urging his teammates to "show some shame" and fight to avoid another relegation. The Brazilian club is currently in crisis—knocked out of the Copa do Brasil by second-tier CRB and sitting 18th in the league with only eight points.
“This is not where Santos should be. We know the quality of this squad, but we must take responsibility and play the football we’re capable of,” said Neymar after his return from injury.
Last week, Santos exited the Copa do Brasil after a goalless aggregate against CRB, falling 5-4 in the penalty shootout. Despite Neymar’s comeback, the team remains in disarray, dangerously close to a second relegation just two years after their historic drop in 2023.
