Neymar considering retirement as early as 2026

Neymar is currently playing for his boyhood club Santos and hopes to feature at the 2026 World Cup, but this season could ultimately prove to be his last in professional football.

Details: According to ESPN, Neymar is now “living year by year” as he contemplates the possibility of bringing his career to a close at the end of the season.

We previously reported that Brazil head coach Carlo Ancelotti made it clear he holds no special preference for Neymar and treats him like any other Brazilian international.

He will include Neymar in Brazil’s squad for the 2026 World Cup only if the forward is in outstanding physical condition and capable of maintaining high intensity throughout an entire match.
