Since the Saudi investment fund's arrival in Newcastle in 2021, debates have raged over the fund using the club and city to whitewash reputations. However, city authorities do not share this view.

Details: The head of Newcastle's city council, Pam Smith, stated that the city is seizing every opportunity to enhance residents' quality of life. As for various diplomatic aspects, she believes it is best left to the experts.

Quote: "You have to remember why you're doing these things. You're doing it to make Newcastle what it should be. It should be recognized as a global city where everyone can thrive.

And you have to look at the proposals... Do they meet the quality? Are they suitable for the city? What will our residents gain from this? You have to stick to these principles, and as for international diplomacy, I'll leave that to others more qualified," Smith stated.

Reminder: Currently, Newcastle's head coach Eddie Howe is undergoing treatment in the hospital for pneumonia.
