Newcastle United have reportedly identified Carlos Baleba as a potential replacement for Bruno Guimaraes, with the Cameroonian midfielder emerging as a target after previously snubbing interest from Manchester United.

According to the Daily Mail, the 22-year-old midfielder is firmly on Newcastle's radar, with new head coach Matthias Jaissle understood to be an admirer of the Brighton & Hove Albion star.

Baleba previously attracted serious interest from Manchester United, with reports suggesting he was keen on a move to Old Trafford. However, a move to the Red Devils has been left hanging, leaving his future open as Newcastle now consider making a move.
