Newcastle United Agree Deal to Sign Young Guinean Midfielder Ousmane Diabaté from Gençlerbirliği
Newcastle United have reportedly agreed a deal to sign young Guinean midfielder Ousmane Diabaté from Turkish club Gençlerbirliği.
The 18-year-old has chosen Newcastle despite reported interest from Fenerbahçe, Brentford and Tottenham, with the Premier League club now closing in on completing the transfer.
According to Turkish journalist Reşat Can Özbudak, Diabaté has travelled to Tyneside to undergo his medical ahead of signing for Newcastle United.
Diabaté has enjoyed a rapid rise since joining Gençlerbirliği from Guinean club Académie SOAR in December 2025. He initially featured for the club’s U-19 side, making 10 appearances before earning his opportunity with the senior team. The midfielder has since made seven first-team appearances for Gençlerbirliği.
