Newcastle is close to signing the goalkeeper of the England youth team
Goalkeeper James Trafford of Burnley may be changing clubs in the summer transfer window. Renowned insider Fabrizio Romano notes that the goalkeeper of the England youth team is a priority target for Newcastle.
According to the source, "The Magpies" have already begun negotiations for the transfer of the 21-year-old Englishman. Manchester City, whose graduate is the goalkeeper, will receive 20% of the deal amount, as Burnley acquired him from this club.
Newcastle is also considering alternative options to strengthen the goalkeeping position, including Georgi Mamardashvili from Valencia and Aaron Ramsdale from Arsenal, but both of these options are considered too expensive.
In the current season, Trafford conceded 62 goals in 28 matches and kept his goal intact twice. It is worth reminding that Burnley was relegated from the Premier League at the end of the 2023/24 season and will start the new season in the Championship.
