Newcastle head coach Eddie Howe did not hide his irritation when addressing reports about a potential transfer deal sending Bruno Guimarães to Manchester United.
Details: As the Magpies prepare for decisive matches at the business end of the season, Howe labeled such rumors as unwanted distractions that only disrupt the team.
Howe emphasized that stories like these only prevent the squad from focusing on football:
“I don’t even know how to respond to that... it’s just a complete waste of energy. It’s unwanted news. You don’t want your players distracted by outside noise. I’m not sure how much they take it in, but it’s disruptive,” the coach stated.
Despite persistent rumors of interest from the Red Devils, Howe was quick to reassure Newcastle fans, underlining the Brazilian midfielder’s loyalty:
Bruno is fully committed to our club. He’s focused on playing for Newcastle.
Guimarães remains a key figure in Howe’s tactical setup. Judging by the manager’s sharp response, Newcastle have no intention of entering into talks with Manchester United—at least not in the upcoming transfer window.
Reminder: Manchester United midfielder Bruno Fernandes complained to Michael Carrick about his position during the Premier League match against Bournemouth.
