Newcastle have identified a replacement for Howe if he takes the England national team job
The Football Association is currently searching for a successor to Gareth Southgate, who stepped down following England's defeat to Spain in the Euro 2024 final.
Howe, Graham Potter, Mauricio Pochettino, and Lee Carsley are considered the main contenders for the role, with Thomas Tuchel, Frank Lampard, and even Pep Guardiola also mentioned.
If Howe is appointed as England manager, the Football Association will need to compensate Newcastle for terminating his contract. It is reported that Howe's salary would be double that of Southgate's.
Howe has also expressed his commitment to Newcastle, stating that his loyalty to the club is "unwavering." However, if he decides to accept the England job, Newcastle is said to have already identified Pochettino as his potential replacement.
According to the Daily Mirror, Newcastle are keen to receive a quick decision from Howe regarding the England position to secure Pochettino before other clubs or national teams can make a move.
