New Zealand cyclist Ellesse Andrews became an Olympic champion for the first time in her career.

At the 2024 Paris Olympics, the New Zealander won gold in the women's keirin event on the velodrome.

Second place went to Hetty van de Wouw (Netherlands). The bronze medal was won by Emma Finucane (Great Britain).

This is the first Olympic gold in Andrews' career. At the Tokyo Olympics, the New Zealand cyclist won silver in the keirin. She is also a world champion.

Let me remind you that the Dailysports team has prepared a schedule of events in which medals will be awarded on August 8.
