New Zealand secured victory in the third Test match against India, clinching a historic 3-0 series win.
Details. On Sunday at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai, the Kiwis bowled out the hosts for 121 runs, winning the match by 25 runs. India, aiming to chase down 147 runs for victory, succumbed to defeat. New Zealand player Ajaz Patel was the true hero of the match, taking 6 wickets for 57 runs.
"It's truly special. To win a Test match here, at this historic ground, and to win the series 3-0 is something you dream of. To do it against a world-class team like India makes it even more special. We are just a group of New Zealanders taking on the world," said batsman Darryl Mitchell.
Reminder. This marks India's first home defeat by a whitewash since 2000, when they lost to South Africa 2-0. Since then, India had not lost a single home series after their defeat to England in 2012.
