New York will sign Shamet, who Washington didn't need


New York has agreed to a contract with former Washington defenceman Landry Shamet.
Details: According to ESPN insider Adrian Wojnarowski, the sides have agreed on a one-year deal. This information was confirmed to the source by the basketball player's agent George S. Langberg.
Reminder: The 27-year-old defenceman played for Washington last season, but the Wizards decided not to extend his contract. He averaged 7.1 points, 1.3 rebounds and 1.2 assists in 46 games on the court.
For his career, Shamet is averaging 8.7 points and making 38 per cent of his three-pointers.
The American offensive guard was selected in the 2018 NBA Draft at No. 26 by Philadelphia. After that, he also played for the Clippers, Nets, Phoenix before moving on to the Wizards.
By the way, earlier Dallas Mavericks announced the return of forward Markieff Morris.
