The World Cup may be in full swing, but English clubs are staying busy in the transfer market: Aston Villa is lining up a new signing.

Details: According to Indykaila, Aston Villa are in talks with Liverpool regarding a potential transfer for Reds midfielder Curtis Jones. Unai Emery is looking to bolster his midfield and sees Jones as an excellent option.

Liverpool value the 25-year-old midfielder at £35-40 million, and negotiations between the clubs are ongoing.

In the 2025/26 season, Jones featured in 49 matches across all competitions, netting three goals and providing three assists. The player's current contract with last season's champions runs until 2027.
