New scandal uncovered regarding Senegal’s 2026 World Cup campaign
Edouard Mendy paid for his own medical tests following his injury
The Senegalese Football Federation is alleged to have left its delegation without insurance cover during the tournament, which is taking place in the United States, Canada and Mexico.
According to reports from Sport News Africa, the players, coaching staff and members of the Senegalese delegation were reportedly without any insurance cover during the 2026 World Cup.
The consequences of this lack of insurance cover were reportedly felt following Edouard Mendy’s knee injury in the group stage match against Norway. The goalkeeper is said to have paid for his medical examinations out of his own pocket.
