Ruben Amorim, recently appointed as the new manager of Manchester United, has expressed regret over some decisions from his youth. According to The Sun, Amorim revealed that he never finished school, a fact his wife Maria occasionally teases him about.

At the age of 18, Amorim left school without completing his exams after signing his first professional football contract.

"I had an agreement with my mother. I would continue at school until I signed a professional contract. I signed when I was 17. Today, I regret it a lot. If I’d taken my exams, I could have done the 12th year. I could also have entered a top college.," he admitted.

Maria, who holds a degree in electrotechnical engineer, often jokes with her husband about his lack of formal education. Now working as an interior designer, Maria married Ruben in 2013, and the couple has two children.

Before joining Manchester United, Amorim managed Sporting Lisbon, where he led the team to two Portuguese league titles, cementing his reputation as one of Europe’s brightest coaching talents.
