However, the teams have slightly different objectives. The Netherlands will finish their preparations for Euro 2024 with this match, while the Icelandic players will go home after the game in Rotterdam and next time they will gather for the Nations League matches in September.

Netherlands head coach Ronald Koeman may make changes to the squad that played against Canada last match: Nathan Ake, Denzel Dumfries and Virgil van Dijk should appear in defence.

Frankie de Jong's participation remains uncertain as he missed the end of last season due to an ankle injury, but a place in central midfield against Iceland should be found for Teun Koopmeiners.
