Netherlands – Canada. Predicted line-ups and latest news Netherlands – Canada. Predicted line-ups and latest news

A friendly match between the Netherlands and Canada will take place on 6 June at the De Cape Stadium in Rotterdam.

Both teams will start their preparations for their continental tournament with this match. But, the Canadians will also play their first game, in which the team will be led by American specialist Jesse Marsch, as he took over the team less than a month ago.

Personnel issues will need to be addressed by both coaches. Netherlands manager Ronald Koeman is expected to make changes to the squad, although he has 11 players who started the friendly against Germany in March.

If Koeman decides to stick with a back three, a decision will be needed at the left-back position, where Nathan Ake, Daley Blind and Jeremie Frimpong could feature.

Frenkie de Jong is still nursing an ankle injury, while Teun Koopmeiners and Cody Gakpo could return to midfield and attack respectively.

Problems are present for the Canadian national team as well. With Joel Waterman unavailable, assuming the team plays with a five-man defensive line, Marsch will have to decide who to select for the central defenceman position.

Derek Cornelius or 18-year-old Fulham defender Luc de Fougerolles are possible options, as well as veteran Richie Laryea, who could return to the starting lineup.

Recent Sheffield Wednesday player Ike Ugbo could retain his place at the centre of attack.

But both Koeman and Marsh will have time to experiment with the line-up. In addition to the face-off, the teams will each play another match. The Canadians will travel to Bordeaux on 9 June for a sparring session with the French, the Dutch' Euro group rival, and the Netherlands will play Iceland at home the next day.

Based on these facts, the Dailysports team has prepared predicted line-ups for the Netherlands vs Canada match.
