The situation surrounding the Argentine striker in Madrid has reached boiling point.

Details: According to respected radio station COPE and its programme El Partidazo de COPE, Atlético Madrid striker Julián Álvarez has been diagnosed with severe depression. Reports claim that the 26-year-old has already provided the club's management with all the relevant medical documents and specialists' reports.

Due to a deterioration in his psychological condition, the Argentine has missed the team's training sessions for three consecutive days and will be unable to help his side in the upcoming away league match against Sevilla.

The main cause of the crisis is said to be the conflict surrounding his failed move to Barcelona.
