A free agent since leaving Saudi Arabia, the Ivorian international’s future may ultimately not lie with the Old Lady.

Whilst Juventus had been working on bringing in Franck Kessié, negotiations are now reportedly on hold. The conditions necessary to reach an agreement are reportedly not in place.

Kessié is said to have informed Juventus that the terms on offer were not to his satisfaction. The main point of disagreement is reportedly the salary.

The Italian club is said to have offered the Ivorian midfielder a two-season contract with an option for a further year, on a salary of 4 million euros per year. The player is said to have deemed this offer insufficient and is reportedly demanding more.

In light of this situation, the transfer has now been put on hold. However, talks could resume if the two parties manage to bridge the gap between their positions.

But this slowdown in negotiations could work in Roma’s favour, as they are also interested in Franck Kessié. The club could now step in to pursue the deal.
