Bayern Munich midfielder Leon Goretzka is on the verge of leaving the Bavarian giants as a free agent. The German international’s contract expires at the end of June, and the two sides have yet to reach an agreement on an extension.
According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, Juventus have emerged as the frontrunners to sign the 30-year-old midfielder. The Turin club has already contacted the player's representatives and is set to present a concrete offer in the near future.
Other Serie A clubs are also showing interest in the experienced midfielder. Earlier reports indicated that both AC Milan and Napoli are considering a move for Goretzka. However, at this stage, Juventus are seen as favorites in the race for his signature.
For the record, Goretzka has been with Bayern since 2018, when he joined from Schalke. Over that period, he has established himself as a key player and helped the club secure numerous trophies, including seven Bundesliga titles.
