Cristiano Ronaldo was one of the first major transfers to Saudi Arabia, and following his move, many other high-profile players have since joined clubs in the Middle East, with the list expanding each year.

Now, Saudi clubs have set their sights on Manchester City and Belgium star Kevin De Bruyne, and Ronaldo himself is urging Al-Nassr to make this transfer happen.

Details: De Bruyne’s contract with Manchester City is set to expire at the end of the current season, and there is no clear information regarding a possible extension. Saudi Arabian clubs have shown interest in him for some time, making offers both to the player and to Manchester City, but so far, De Bruyne has remained in England.

However, according to The Mirror, Ronaldo has personally encouraged the management of Al-Nassr to pursue De Bruyne’s transfer, suggesting they offer the Belgian a salary of £1 million per week.

Reminder: Cristiano Ronaldo currently earns nearly four times the amount he’s proposing for De Bruyne, with his own salary reported to be €3.8 million per week. Neymar, playing for Al-Hilal, earns around €1.9 million, while Lionel Messi, now in the U.S., is reportedly paid approximately $1 million weekly.

Kevin De Bruyne has been with Manchester City since 2015, and as of now, his contract value is estimated at €45 million, according to Transfermarkt.
