After the first half, Golden Arrows led 1-0, but the second half failed to kick off on time due to adverse weather conditions. With lightning striking near the stadium, the referee made the call to keep the teams in the dressing rooms for the start of the second half.
After a while, the players returned to warm up ahead of the restart, but the match commissioner promptly sent them back inside as more lightning flashes were observed.
