As the new Liga MX season approaches, Necaxa is actively pursuing reinforcements, with Racing’s Nazareno Colombo and Boca Juniors’ Exequiel Zeballos high on the list. Coach Fernando Gago is leading the effort, relying on his familiarity with Argentine talent to reshape the squad.

Colombo, a central defender at Racing, is a long-time favorite of Gago’s. However, the Buenos Aires club is hesitant to part ways with the defender, viewing him as a key piece for the remainder of the year. Unless Necaxa presents a compelling offer, negotiations appear unlikely in the short term.
Zeballos' situation is more flexible. After a quiet spell at Boca, the young winger has been made available for transfer. Since Miguel Ángel Russo took charge, Zeballos has lost ground in the team and is open to new challenges. Gago, who previously gave him a fresh opportunity after injury, remains an admirer and sees him as a good fit for the Liga MX side.
Although no official bids have been made, Necaxa’s interest is real. With Gago bridging the gap between both footballing worlds, the club is hoping to secure youthful reinforcements to kick-start a new cycle.
