The Congolese national football team has just received a significant boost. Michel-Ange Balikwisha, a 24-year-old winger playing for Celtic Football Club, is officially eligible to represent the Democratic Republic of Congo.
Born in Belgium, the player had previously played for the Belgian national youth teams. FIFA has confirmed this change of sporting nationality, allowing Balikwisha, whose parents are Congolese, to join the Leopards.
He could be included in the list of reinforcements announced by coach Sébastien Desabre for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco.
