Nasreddine Nabi on why Msimango was given a temporary absence against Chippa United! Given Msimango

Once again, the points haemorrhage continues for the Glamour Boys in the Betway Premiership this season, and in the midst of a floundering season, Kaizer Chiefs were held to a goalless draw by Chippa United.

The media were left wondering why defender Alfred Given Msimango missed the game, which ended in another disappointing draw, with the 27-year-old central defender having made 11 appearances as a starter this season.

Why the player missed the game: Nabi answers!

Head coach Nasreddine Nabi revealed that defender Given Msimango was excluded from the starting lineup as he continues to recover from an injury sustained two to three months ago. Speaking to SuperSport TV, Nabi emphasized the need for careful management of the player's condition.

"We decided not to start with Given," Nabi stated. "He's been carrying this injury for the past two to three months, and we've been managing it week by week."

The coach further explained their cautious approach: "This week, we prioritized giving him additional recovery time. While he was technically available to play, he's not at 100%. That's why we made the substitution in his position."
