Napoli’s sporting director explains why Garnacho and Adeyemi deals collapsed

Napoli’s sporting director, Giovanni Manna, has revealed the reasons behind the failed negotiations to sign Alejandro Garnacho and Karim Adeyemi.

Quote. "We made an important offer to Manchester United for Garnacho. We really wanted him. We couldn’t reach an agreement on personal terms with Alejandro. He demanded a high salary to leave in January, and we have to respect our players.

I can confirm that we had a verbal agreement with Borussia for Adeyemi. I also met with Karim in Germany, but the deal collapsed because he didn’t want to join us. I read today that he has already agreed to join another club in July... good for him," Manna said, as quoted by Fabrizio Romano.

Reminder. In addition to these failed deals, Napoli also missed out on signing Allan Saint-Maximin on loan.
