SSC Napoli president Aurelio De Laurentiis has expressed regret over the sale of Victor Osimhen, shedding light on how manager Antonio Conte influenced the club’s decision to part ways with the star striker.

Speaking in an interview with The Athletic, De Laurentiis revealed that Napoli had received a massive €200 million offer from Paris Saint-Germain and other interested clubs for a combined deal involving Osimhen and Khvicha Kvaratskhelia.

According to the Napoli chief, Conte made his preference clear during discussions—he was willing to let Osimhen leave but was determined to keep Kvaratskhelia at the club.

“When we started with Conte, we received an offer of €200m from PSG and others to sell Osimhen and Kvara together,” De Laurentiis explained. “Conte said, ‘Osimhen you can sell, but please don’t sell Kvara.’”

“Big mistake. Because after, I had big trouble with Kvara’s father and agent,” he said, referring to Georgian winger Khvicha Kvaratskhelia.
