Napoli once again drops points in the current Serie A season

The Christmas break in Serie A has concluded. On Friday, December 29, the first match of the 18th round took place between Napoli and Monza.

In the first half, Napoli had slightly more ball possession and an attacking advantage. The team led by Gennaro Gattuso couldn't convert any chances, and both teams headed into halftime with a 0-0 draw.

The second half saw a similar pattern, with Napoli maintaining control of the ball and occasionally creating opportunities in the attack. However, Monza defended calmly. Moreover, in the 68th minute, the visitors earned a penalty. Unfortunately, Matteo Pessina failed to convert the penalty kick. In the dying minutes, Napoli's head coach received a red card and left the field prematurely.

Napoli once again dropped points in the current season. After 18 rounds, Gattuso's team has accumulated 28 points and currently occupies the seventh position in Serie A.
