Former Napoli icon Marek Hamsik has taken up an unexpected hobby after hanging up his boots. The ex-footballer now runs a small farm, where he is engaged in agriculture and poultry farming, reports The Sun.
Hamsik has started raising chickens and is even considering opening his own store in the future. He describes it as a passion project, revealing that his family began keeping chickens in April last year.
"The coop is custom-made. It is more like a hotel for chickens with built-in heating and ventilation, but also automatic doors that open in the morning so that we don't have to get up and check on them," Hamsik explained.
The Slovakian football legend also owns a mini-zoo, as his household is home to a variety of animals, including three dogs, two turtles, a cat, two ferrets, and six guinea pigs.
Hamsik admitted that it was actually his wife’s idea to start a farm and raise chickens.
Beyond farming, he has also recently launched a winery with his father, producing his own wine. It seems Hamsik has found plenty of ways to stay busy in life after football!
