Napoli is still trying to sign Lukaku
Napoli recently appointed Italian specialist Antonio Conte as their new head coach and has already begun working in the transfer market. According to Goal, the "Partenopei" aim to acquire Romelu Lukaku from Chelsea.
The London club wants to sell the 31-year-old Belgian this summer, with a release clause in his contract amounting to nearly 45 million euros. Chelsea insists on the payment of this amount.
Napoli is eager to reunite Lukaku with Antonio Conte, who has taken over the club and previously worked with him at Inter. The player himself has expressed willingness to join Conte's team, but the Italian club will likely have to improve their offer.
According to La Repubblica, the Neapolitans have offered 15 million euros as a fixed amount and 3 million in bonuses for the forward, which is categorically unacceptable to Chelsea.
In the 2023/24 season, Lukaku played for Roma on loan, scoring 21 goals and providing 4 assists in 47 matches.
