Napoli is close to extending the contract with Victor Osimhen

Napoli's president Aurelio De Laurentiis revealed, that the club is nearing an agreement to extend the contract with forward Victor Osimhen.

"As for Osimhen, we are in the process of finalizing the contract, which has been in preparation since the summer", - stated De Laurentiis.

Previously, there were reports of interest from English Premier League giants Chelsea and Manchester United in the nigerian footballer. Last summer, there were rumors linking the player to a possible move to Saudi Arabia, but Osimhen decided to stay with his current club.

The 24-year-old forward returned to the pitch in the match against Atalanta last week after nearly a month out due to injury.

Osimhen's existing agreement with Napoli expires in June 2025. The Nigerian national team player has been with the "Azzurri" since 2020. In the current season, the forward has scored six goals and provided two assists in 12 matches across all competitions. The German portal Transfermarkt values the player at 120 million euros.

Napoli currently occupies the fourth position in Serie A after 13 matches played, amassing 24 points. Tomorrow, on December 3rd, Napoli will play against Inter Milan. In the Champions League, Walter Mazzarri's team has gathered seven points in five games, securing the second spot but falling short of securing a place in the tournament's round of 16.
