The legendary Spanish tennis player Rafael Nadal has begun his training sessions in Barcelona. He shared this update on his social media accounts.

The former world number one is hopeful to participate in the ATP 500 tournament in the capital of Catalonia, but he cannot confirm this with certainty yet.

"Hello from Barcelona 👋🏻First training session… with the hope of being here these days before the start of the tournament. I'm here to see how it goes... with the desire to try to play. I'll tell you about it. It's important to say that I don't want to confirm that I will play, I hope so. We'll see," Nadal wrote on his X page.

In April, Nadal withdrew from the Monte Carlo Masters due to health issues. It was previously reported that the renowned tennis player might miss more time due to back problems.

The ATP 500 tournament in Barcelona is scheduled from April 15 to 21. Nadal has won this tournament a record 12 times in his career.
