Naby Keïta brise le silence : 'J’ai toujours priorisé le Syli National

Naby Keita, a midfielder for Ferencváros, has finally responded to the mounting rumors about his lack of appearances for Guinea in the national team, stating that his dedication is unwavering in spite of recent exclusions.
The former Liverpool star last appeared for Guinea during their 2023 AFCON quarterfinal exit in Ivory Coast.
Since then, the 30-year-old has missed several international windows, most notably turning down a call-up from Michel Dussuyer in March 2025 during the World Cup qualifiers.

Why the Silence?
Speaking to ConakrySport, Keita dismissed suggestions of disinterest.
“If it were solely my decision, I would be with the national team every day. I've always made myself available for the Syli National and throughout my career, I've prioritized the national team" he insisted.
A Message to the Next Coach
Keita emphasized that he is ready to return once contacted:
“It's not just up to me. As soon as the coach picks up the phone, I’ll be there—with pride and motivation.”
Back on Track at Club Level
Now on loan at Ferencváros TC from Werder Bremen, Keita is finally regaining form and fitness after a difficult spell in Germany.
His resurgence in Hungary is restoring both confidence and match sharpness, potentially paving the way for a return to national duty.
