Moustapha Mbow dreams of the World Cup with Senegal
A regular and performing player for Paris FC, the 26-year-old defender has openly expressed his international ambitions.
In an interview with Onze Mondial, Moustapha Mbow stated that he is ready to join the Teranga Lions squad. The prospect of a call-up for the World Cup represents much more than just a goal for him. Mbow is, however, aware of the competition and remains respectful towards his compatriots who are already representing Senegal on the international stage.
I tick all the boxes to make the national team. There are players ahead of me and, as I said, everyone in this squad is good. If I’m called up to the World Cup squad, that alone is a huge source of pride, because there’s a lot of competition. As the coach (Pape Thiaw) said, for me, there aren’t really any substitutes; we’re all ready to start. If he calls up 26 players, that means all 26 can start. I think about the World Cup every day.
