“Mourinho Is My Dad”: Yan Diomande Reveals Didier Drogba’s Message Ahead of Real Madrid Chapter

Real Madrid's new signing Yan Diomande has revealed an intriguing conversation he recently had with Ivory Coast and Chelsea legend Didier Drogba about his new coach, Jose Mourinho.

Speaking in an exclusive interview with Sporty TV, Diomande was asked about the African players he admired while growing up. He then revealed details of a recent conversation with Drogba, who enjoyed a close relationship with Mourinho during their time together at Chelsea.

“A few days ago, I spoke with Didier Drogba. He told me: ‘Be careful, Mourinho is my dad. You have to work very hard, but he is an amazing and good person.’”, — said Yan Diomande.

The Ivorian youngster also expressed his willingness to give everything for Mourinho as he begins his career at Real Madrid.

"When you play for Jose Mourinho, you want to die for him. I am ready to do that," he said.

Diomande will now hope to follow Drogba’s advice and make a strong impression under Mourinho as he begins his new chapter in Spain.

Real Madrid will open their new La Liga campaign away against Espanyol on Saturday, August 22.
