Roma head coach Jose Mourinho, who recently criticized his players, may once again be punished by the Italian Football Federation.
This was reported by the local news agency ANSA. According to the source, the reason may be the words of the Portuguese before the match with Sassuolo (2:1) in Serie A, when he doubted the qualifications of referee Matteo Marcenaro.
“To be honest, I have concerns about the referee assigned to the match. He has already worked at our matches three times. I'm not sure he has the emotional stability to operate at that level.
This is not just a match for us, because we are only three points behind the Champions League place, this is a very important game for us. There is no peace either because of the referee or because of VAR, with whom we were also often unlucky,” the Portuguese noted then.
After these words, the Italian Football Federation opened a case and began an investigation. Moreover, after the game, the Portuguese tried to justify himself and said that he was misunderstood, since he does not yet know Italian perfectly.
