Legendary Portuguese manager José Mourinho gave an extensive interview to Corriere dello Sport, in which he highlighted what he considers the greatest mistake of his career.
Details: According to Mourinho, Real Madrid president Florentino Pérez advised him against returning to Chelsea in the summer of 2013, but the Portuguese coach didn’t take his advice.
“Refusing Florentino Pérez remains one of my biggest regrets. He told me: Don’t leave now, you’ve done the hardest part, and the best is yet to come. Stay at Real.
But I wanted to return to Chelsea after three tough years in Spain!”
Mourinho managed Real Madrid from the summer of 2010 to the summer of 2013. After that, he went on to coach Chelsea, Manchester United, Tottenham Hotspur, Roma, and is now managing Fenerbahçe.
Reminder: Late last year, Mourinho underwent surgery for gallbladder issues.
