Motta's replacement. Bologna sign new head coach

Bologna has finalized the appointment of the coach who will replace Thiago Motta for the upcoming season.

According to Fabrizio Romano and Nicolo Schira, the club has signed a two-year contract with Vincenzo Italiano today. The official announcement of his appointment is expected in the coming hours.

Italiano's previous club was Fiorentina, which he left at the end of the season. His position at Fiorentina has been taken over by Raffaele Palladino from Monza.

Under Italiano's guidance, Fiorentina reached the UEFA Conference League finals twice in a row but lost both finals: 1-2 to West Ham and 0-1 to Olympiacos.

Notably, Bologna qualified for the Champions League for the first time in 60 years at the end of the last season. Thiago Motta is expected to be announced as the new head coach of Juventus soon.
