Motagua are reinforcing their squad ahead of the 2025–26 campaign, securing the signings of two domestic midfielders: Luis Meléndez and Héctor Aranda. As reported by DIEZ, both players will be formally introduced soon, joining the club at a pivotal moment with two competitions on the calendar.

Luis Meléndez arrives from Juticalpa FC, where he played a vital role in the team’s top-flight survival. He signed a two-year contract with Motagua and reunites with his brothers Dennis and Carlos, marking the second time the trio will play together after a previous stint at Vida.

Meanwhile, Héctor Aranda opted to stay in Honduras despite having a deal nearly finalized with Real Estelí of Nicaragua. Motivated by a strong Apertura showing, Aranda hopes to maintain his form and earn another call-up to the Honduran national team. His decision reflects both ambition and a desire to remain visible to national selectors.

Sporting director Emilio Izaguirre is also working to bring in two foreign strikers to strengthen the squad for the Liga Nacional Apertura and the Central American Cup. Motagua’s preseason is set to kick off on June 16, as the club continues building a roster capable of challenging on multiple fronts.
