Morocco and Lille Striker Hamza Igamane Undergoes Successful Knee Surgery After AFCON Final Injury
Morocco and Lille forward Hamza Igamane has successfully undergone surgery on his right knee following an anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) tear sustained during the Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) final against Senegal in Rabat.
The injury occurred after Igamane was brought on as a late substitute in extra time, only to be forced off shortly after a heavy challenge left him in pain. Medical scans confirmed the severity of the ACL tear, prompting immediate surgical intervention earlier this week.
Following the procedure, Igamane took to social media to update fans on his recovery, expressing gratitude for the outpouring of support and promising to return stronger.
“It’s a tough moment, but I’ll fight to come back. Thank you for all the messages,” Igamane wrote.
