Morocco 2025 – Aliou Cissé names favorites for AFCON

The current Libya coach and former Senegal manager, Aliou Cissé, still holds his country of birth dear. True to his roots, he made no secret of his attachment to Senegal.

During an interview with AFRICAFOOT UNITED on the sidelines of the Arab Cup playoffs, Aliou Cissé discussed his favorites for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations.

“I hope it will be with Senegal, because I come from Senegal and my heart is with this team. Besides Senegal, there are many teams capable of winning this AFCON. I’m thinking in particular of Morocco, Senegal of course, but also Algeria, Egypt, and Nigeria,” said Cissé, the current Libya coach.

Aliou Cissé is convinced that the AFCON remains an unpredictable tournament and it is difficult to say exactly which country will win it.
