Moroccan Forward Shines for Leganés in Thrilling 4-3 Clash Against Girona

Munir El Haddadi, once a standout for Morocco’s national team, made a notable return to the spotlight, scoring for Leganés in a tightly contested 4-3 loss to Girona. El Haddadi’s goal in the 77th minute marked Leganés’ third, an effort to turn the game around that ultimately fell short.

Just days earlier, El Haddadi also played a key role in Leganés’ progression to the next round of the Copa del Rey after a victory over Ciudad de Lucena. Despite his recent form, El Haddadi has not been called up to the Moroccan national team since 2022, with coach Walid Regragui opting for other options up front due to El Haddadi’s fluctuating performance levels.

The forward, who joined Leganés from Las Palmas on a free transfer last summer, appears determined to prove himself once again as he looks to regain his peak form in La Liga.
