More than just a jersey! Mamelodi Sundowns unveil stunning new kit with a powerful message
Mamelodi Sundowns are making a statement beyond football with the launch of their special new jersey for the 2026/27 season.
Details: South African giants Mamelodi Sundowns and sportswear manufacturer PUMA have officially unveiled The Rise Kit, the club's third kit for the 2026/27 campaign. Featuring an elegant white-and-blue design inspired by the limitless African sky, the jersey symbolizes hope, peace, and the belief that greatness knows no boundaries.
However, the new shirt carries a much deeper meaning. Its launch coincides with National Children's Day activities and is centered around the message Every Child Deserves to Rise. The initiative aims to promote children's rights, dignity, protection, and empowerment while encouraging young people to pursue their dreams regardless of their circumstances.
Club ambassador and former captain Hlompho Kekana explained the idea behind the campaign, emphasizing that the kit should inspire children to dream beyond the skies, believe in their limitless potential, and rise above life's challenges.
The new jersey will make its official on-pitch debut on Saturday, October 31, when Mamelodi Sundowns face Durban City in the South African Betway Premiership. Supporters will be able to purchase The Rise Kit from Friday, October 30, through PUMA stores and selected retailers.
It's worth noting that The Rise Kit completes the club's three-kit collection for the 2026/27 season. Sundowns previously unveiled their traditional yellow home jersey in July and their blue away kit in August.
