With less than two weeks before the 2025 FIFA Club World Cup kicks off, Monterrey has added a new face to its training sessions: 22-year-old Scottish midfielder Finlay Robertson. As reported by Posta Deportes, the Dundee FC player joined Rayados' squad as part of a collaboration agreement between the two clubs.

Robertson emerged as one of Dundee's standout performers in the 2024-2025 season, making 37 appearances and providing seven assists, playing a crucial role in the team's fight against relegation. His impressive form caught the attention of Monterrey's coaching staff, led by Domènec Torrent, who is considering including him in the roster for the upcoming international tournament.

Training alongside seasoned players like Sergio Ramos, Lucas Ocampos, and Sergio Canales, Robertson is gaining invaluable experience. Monterrey has until June 10 to register up to six reinforcements for the Club World Cup, and Robertson's inclusion could be a strategic move to bolster the midfield.

Rayados will make their tournament debut on June 15 in Los Angeles against Inter Milan. Robertson's potential addition not only strengthens Monterrey's squad but also exemplifies the fruitful partnership between the Mexican club and Dundee FC, aimed at nurturing young talent.
