Money wins! Jadon Sancho rejects Getafe after receiving a huge Saudi Arabia offer
Jadon Sancho's unexpected move to Getafe has collapsed! The former Manchester United winger has reportedly rejected the Spanish club's offer after receiving a significantly more lucrative proposal from Saudi Arabia.
Details: According to Spanish newspaper Marca, Sancho informed Getafe president Ángel Torres that he would not join the LaLiga side. The 26-year-old demanded €3 million net until the end of the 2026/27 season, an amount the club could not afford. Getafe reportedly improved their initial proposal, but it remained below the Englishman's expectations. His representatives are now negotiating with an unnamed Saudi Arabian club.
Getafe had identified Sancho as a potential attacking reinforcement for José Bordalás. Earlier reports suggested an offer worth approximately €400,000 until the end of the campaign, although Marca claims the actual proposal was considerably higher. Financial differences ultimately prevented an agreement.
The winger has been without a club since leaving Manchester United in the summer of 2026. He previously spent loan spells at Borussia Dortmund, Chelsea and Aston Villa. Despite his considerable experience, Sancho has struggled to find a new team capable of meeting his financial expectations.
It's worth noting that Sancho remains a free agent and can negotiate a contract outside the regular transfer window, subject to registration rules. His representatives are reportedly working on a Saudi deal, but neither the club's identity nor a final agreement has been confirmed. Getafe have now suspended their search for this particular signing.
Reminder: Sensation! Jadon Sancho moves closer to a LaLiga transfer.
